Buckhead Creek

It was 90º when we arrived at the anchorage with very little breeze so we went below, turned on the air conditioning and enjoyed a nice lunch. Within moments we noticed the boat was being attacked by a swarm of very large hornets. They were obviously very upset at us for being here. Since we couldn’t get into the marina at our next stop until Monday, we were held captive inside by the menacing hornets for two days.

Hog Islands

Amy, Demian, James and Julia flew in from Washington and stayed at the Inn at Diamond Cove.  We put in at Demillo’s in Portland’s old port and toured the islands with them in the dinghy.

Between Great Diamond and Little Diamond (formerly the Hog Islands) there is a little Isthmus which is submerged for six hours at high tide.  At low tide, James explored the tidal pools while we put in at the Little Diamond quay.

As the tide began to come in, we headed out to Fort Gorges to explore the battlements.  A drone kept watch over us as we took in the views.
